A core planning team of 30 parents, community members, and St. Louis Park School staff spent the past year working on the strategic direction of the St. Louis Park School District.

According to this article in the MN Sun newspaper, there were three key objectives that the group agreed upon:

#1) “All students will achieve the knowledge, skills, passion and attitudes to meet or exceed rigorous academic standards, without demographically predictable results, in order to succeed in their future.”

#2) “All students will voluntarily and continually contribute to society.”

#3) “All community members will be involved in learning opportunities of interest to them that are: intellectually engaging, community enriching, physically energizing and enhance the spirit.”

The school district is also wrestling with how they can do a better job of addressing the changes in diversity reflected in its student population.
