Plymouth, MN – Median Home Prices Decline 6.9% Through October 2009

The Minneapolis Area Association of Realtors just published data through October 2009.   For Plymouth, MN, sales activity remains about where it was one year ago, but the median home sales prices have declined by nearly 7%.

Below is the data for year to date comparisons 2008 vs. 2009:

Median Home Prices:  $275,000 vs. 256,000 – decline of 6.9%

Average Home Prices:: $319,555 vs. 294,180 – decline of 7.9%

Closed Sales: 704 vs. 701

New Listings: 1,598 vs. 1,450 – decline of 9.3%

Days on Market until Sale (contract): 127 vs. 132

Percent of Original List Received: 93.7 vs. 92.1%

While overall closed sales remains on pace with last year, the days on market continue to increase and the percentage received at sale is continuing to decline as well as the median and average price of homes.   The housing market in Plymouth, MN has not yet turned the corner.
