Burnsville-Eagan-Savage Schools Consider Moving to Four Day Week

Tonight the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage school district held a workshop to discuss the possibility of moving to a four day school week next year.  Apparently it would save the district $5 million by having no school on Mondays.  (My preference is a 5 day school week but if you have to eliminate a day, why not choose Friday instead of Monday?).

According to the story on WCCO, the district would have 17 fewer school days but apparently the same number of hours in the classroom.  This district is on the other side of the Twin Cities for me and I have not heard anything weather the school districts in the western suburbs are considering a similar option.
